“I want you to come out when and how you want to come out,” Charlie Spring (played by John Locke) tells his new boyfriend, Nick Nelson (played by Kit Connor).
Netflix has answered our prayers and has finally dropped the trailer for the upcoming season 2 of the queer romantic comedy series Heartstopper.
While the first season explored the budding relationship between Charlie and Nick, this new season looks to examine the warmth and glow of finally being in that relationship. This also includes dealing with coming out as a couple, and, for Nick, coming out as queer.
From the trailer, we see the other characters deal with their own romantic struggles too. We see them grow as well.
"Nick and Charlie navigate their new relationship, Tara and Darcy face unforeseen challenges and Tao and Elle work out if they can ever be more than just friends. With exams on the horizon, a school trip to Paris and a prom to plan, the gang has a lot to juggle as they journey through the next stages of life, love, and friendship," the description of the new season reads.
Heartstopper also stars Yasmin Finney, William Gao, Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Sebastian Croft, Tobie Donovan, Rhea Norwood, Jenny Walser, Cormac Hyde-Corrin, and Oscar-winner Olivia Colman.
The first season of the show has a 100 percent critic rating on Rotten Tomatoes and reached the Netflix Top Ten list in more than 50 countries, according to the streaming platform.
