Zachary Quinto came to most people's attention playing the Sylar, the main villain from the drama series Heroes, going from there to the silver screen, portraying alien Spock in the three (newer) Star Trek films: Star Trek, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Star Trek Beyond. He came back to the small screen for the AMC series NOS4A2, and even picked up an Emmy for his portrayal of Dr. Oliver Thredson in American Horror Story: Asylum. But although the out actor is no stranger to the stage, having performed in plays as notable as Glass Menagerie, The Boys in the Band, and Angels in America, Quinto is preparing for his first West End run in London, where he'll star as gay writer and intellectual Gore Vidal, with David Harewood playing political rival, William F. Buckley, in the award-winning James Graham play, Best of Enemies.

Based in 1968, the play tells of the time when Vidal and Buckley were hired to be on-air commentators for the Democratic and Republican party, respectively, during a time when there were only newscasters telling the news, in essence becoming the debut of the pundits and commentators that we have today.

Vidal, who was featured on the cover of The Advocate in 1995, was "an intellectual titan, ... also a gay icon," Quinto said in discussion with Attitude. "...He never backed down from acknowledging and accepting his identity as a gay man."

As for both playing the legendary intellectual, as well as performing in London, Quinto says to Broadway World, "Living and working in London has long been an aspiration of mine. But to be making my West End debut in such a thrilling and relevant play -- amongst such a distinguished creative team -- and playing such a scorching and complex character as Gore Vidal -- far exceeds my expectations of what living and working in London would look like... I'm full of gratitude and excitement. Best of Enemies harkens back to a vital time - when genuine discourse was possible from even the most opposite ends of the ideological spectrum. My hope is that such discourse may be once again rekindled in response to the work itself."

Best of Enemies with Zachary Quinto will run at the Noel Coward Theatre from 14 November 14 - February 18. For more information, visit bestofenemiesplay.com
