Even though Caitlyn Jenner's Republican political affiliations are getting all the attention, her E! reality show also includes discussions on the shifting nature of identity and language.

On Sunday's episode of I Am Cait -- the second of the second season -- activist and academic Jennifer Finney Boylan (pictured above) and author Kate Bornstein have an emotional conversation about the word "tranny." The women, traveling with Jenner and other activists on a cross-country trip to promote trans equality, have very different opinions on the word. Bornstein says the trans community themselves created "tranny," while Boylan says it's been used to hurt and minimize gender-nonconforming people; she also describes a terrifying experience she had with the word.
