Before Christine Hallquist was running for governor of Vermont, she was the CEO of the largest locally owned electric utility in the state. Hallquist, a "closet environmentalist," spearheaded the utility's transition to one of the country's first "smart" grids before beginning a transition of her own.

Christine's son Derek Hallquist is the director, writer, and producer of a documentary about his parent, Denial. Derek spent years working on the documentary, which premiered at the Los Angeles Film Festival and has won awards across the country.

In this clip, Hallquist's wife and son candidly share their struggle to adjust to Christine's burgeoning identity and reflect on Christine's favorite Halloween costume.
