As the CEO of equalpride, our nation's leading LGBTQ+-owned and operated media company, I'm writing to address some recent developments that have been disheartening to many of us.

With a heavy heart, we recognize the continued rollback and limitation of protections for our vibrant and diverse community, as well as the escalating anti-LGBTQ+ rhetoric and legislation across the country. We are clearly facing adversity, and the journey toward equality for all is a steep, uphill battle.

However, as we navigate these tumultuous times, it's crucial to remember the strength and determination that brought us to where we are today. We are part of a legacy of resilience, perseverance, and unwavering hope. As a community and a company, we must channel these qualities now more than ever.

At equalpride, we refuse to be deterred by these setbacks. Instead, we see them as a call to amplify our efforts and voices. We pledge to continue doing what we do best — uplifting, empowering, and telling stories in all its diversity and beauty. We will continue to use our platform to challenge discrimination and make visible our community's experiences, triumphs, and struggles.

Remember, media is a powerful tool to effect change. The stories we share, the narratives we promote, and the voices we amplify all contribute to shaping a culture that celebrates diversity, encourages understanding, and fosters acceptance.

As part of this effort, we will ramp up our initiatives to support LGBTQ+ rights organizations and partner with allies who share our vision of a world where everyone, regardless of their identity or who they love, is treated with dignity and respect.

In the face of adversity, our resolve only grows stronger. We remain steadfast in using our platforms to be in the culture, inspiring the culture, and initiating a culture of equality for all. This isn't merely a dream for us. It's a commitment, an obligation, and a goal that we will tirelessly work towards together.

Let's use this moment as a call to action. Reach out to your networks, engage in dialogue, and raise your voices. We will build a more accepting and equitable world through unity, solidarity, and love.

Thank you for your continued support and for standing beside us in this crucial journey towards equality.

Stay safe. Stay strong. Stay proud.

With my deepest gratitude,

Mark Berryhill
