The Foo Fighters weren't too happy about members of the Westboro Baptist Church showing up to protest outside their Kansas City venue Friday night. But instead of ignoring the notoriously antigay hate group, the band took it upon themselves to upstage their picket -- by Rickrolling them.
Lead singer Dave Grohl and the rest of the Foo Fighters band members, as well as a few friends, hopped in a pickup truck and drove to the front lines of Westboro's protest, blocking out their hateful speech with the sounds of Rick Astley's anthemic 1987 song "Never Gonna Give You Up."
As predicted, the results were absolutely hilarious. Fans crowded the truck, cheering on the band as they gave the church a dose of its own medicine.
This isn't the first time the Foo Fighters have had a hilarious, in-your-face encounter with Westboro.
Back in 2011, they performed a pro-LGBT version of their song "Keep It Clean" to another crowd of Westboro members who were protesting outside a scheduled concert in Kansas City.
