What happens when a popular, young American vlogger connects with a cheeky Irish counterpart in the days leading up to humanity's first-ever popular vote in favor of marriage equality?
As you'll in see Raymond Braun's YouTube video featuring his famous fellow vlogger, a young Irishman named Riyadh K, it's pretty much high-voltage smiles, absolutely contagious tears, and enough rainbow-colored footage to make a leprechaun blush.
Braun traveled from U.S. shores to Ireland early last week, camera in hand, with the Human Rights Campaign's Ty Cobb. Braun's video journal of the trip captures the suspense felt around the world -- and of course that which pulsed across Ireland -- as the pro-equality, pre-election poll numbers fell ten points a week before last Friday's vote.
But by the time the final votes were counted Saturday, Braun's lens captured the moment when victory for equality was declared. Don't miss the poignant moment at the four-minute mark, when Riyadh K's dad barely holds back his tears, lamenting his initial negative reaction to learning his son was gay.
Then watch in the video below as Braun, HRC's Cobb, and Riyadh K join thousands gathered in Dublin to ring in a new era of genuine equality for same-sex couples on the Emerald Isle.
