Estanislao Fernandez, a.k.a. Dyhzy, folded up the flag to wear it as a pocket square.
The son of Argentina's new president kicked off his father's administration with Pride.
Estanislao Fernandez, a prominent drag queen in Argentina who is also known by the name Dyhzy, folded up a rainbow flag and wore it as a pocket square to his dad's inauguration. Alberto Fernandez, a left-wing leader, was sworn in Tuesday as the South American nation's president.
Local outlets first referred to the article of clothing as a handkerchief. However, on social media, Estanislao clarified that the accessory was a full flag, folding it open on Instagram for his followers to see and waving it in its full, colorful glory.
"I'd like to clarify that the famous handkerchief that I had... it wasn't a handkerchief, it was a flag, definitely a flag!" he said in a video posted to his Instagram Story.

The rainbow flag is, of course, the symbol of the LGBTQ community.
Alberto Fernandez, a champion of LGBTQ rights, represents a new era for the country's queer citizens. He bested the right-wing incumbent, Mauricio Macri, in the October presidential election.
In a June interview, the politician said he is "proud" of Estanislao, a drag performer and cosplayer with a large social media following. Fernandez described him as "one of the most creative persons in my life" in the conversation with Radio Con Vos via Ushuaia Noticias.
"My son is a rights activist in that community. I would worry if my son was a criminal, but he is a great man," he said. "In that world, which I don't know much about, [he] seems to be respected and very recognized. I feel proud for my son."
