Bisexual comedian and actor Andy Dick has been arrested on a felony residential burglary charge in Santa Barbara, Calif.

Dick, who has a history of run-ins with the law, is accused of breaking into a vacant home and stealing power tools, the Santa Barbara Independent reports. The incident happened in the early evening October 13. Police were called to the home and arrested Dick.

He has been held in the Santa Barbara County jail since then but is scheduled for release soon, according to the paper.

"Less than 24 hours before the arrest, Dick posted two videos to his Instagram account, where he can be seen walking around a house in the Santa Barbara hills that appears to be either empty or under construction," the Independent reports. "In both videos, Dick can be heard saying, 'This is my new house.'"

Dick has pleaded not guilty and is being represented by public defender Brian Mathis. Dick and Mathis "are confident additional facts will come to light supporting Mr. Dick as this case moves forward," Mathis told reporters.

Dick was arrested on a felony sexual battery charge in May, having been accused of assaulting a man in a park in Orange County, Calif. In 2021 he was accused of hitting his boyfriend with a liquor bottle and a frying pan.

In 2019, he was sentenced to 14 days in jail for two misdemeanor charges -- one for sexual battery and one for simple battery -- after failing to complete court-ordered community service. He only served a day due to overcrowding. Dick had pleaded no contest.

Producer Lena Sved, Dick's estranged wife, obtained a domestic violence restraining order against him in 2018. That year he was also charged with misdemeanor sexual battery for allegedly grabbing an Uber driver's crotch.

In 2017, Dick was fired from a movie for sexual harassment claims. At the time he told The Hollywood Reporter, "I didn't grope anybody. I might have kissed somebody on the cheek to say goodbye and then licked them. That's my thing. ... It's me being funny. I'm not trying to sexually harass people."

Dick's acting credits include the TV series NewsRadio and Less Than Perfect, and he had his own program, The Andy Dick Show, in 2001-2002. He has had guest roles in numerous series and appeared in several movies.
