After making a reputation for himself online as a queer conservative, railing against those he often referred to as blue-haired liberals, Christian Walker has now taken aim at his father, former NFL football star Herschel Walker. This comes after Christian had previously lent support to Herschel on the campaign trail.
"Every family member of Herschel Walker asked him not to run for office because we all knew (some of) his past," Christian wrote on a Twitter account he's managed since 2014. "Every single one. He decided to give us the middle finger and air out all of his dirty laundry in public, while simultaneously lying about it."
"I'm done."
Christian's tweet came within hours after The Daily Beast ran a report saying that Herschel had paid for his former girlfriend's abortion in 2009. The story was picked up by The New York Times, Politico, and other outlets. Herschel, who is running for a U.S. Senate seat in Georgia, said the report was a lie and vowed to sue. The Daily Beast published a photo of a "get well" card with Walker's signature and reported that there was a $700 check.
"I know my mom and I would appreciate if my father Herschel Walker stopped lying and making a mocker of us," Christian continued on Twitter. "You're not a 'family man' when you left us to bang a bunch of women, threatened to kill us, and had us move over 6 times in 6 months running from your violence."
"I don't care about someone who has a bad past and takes accountability," Christian continued. "But how DARE YOU LIE and act as though you're some 'moral, Christian, upright man.' You've lived a life of DESTROYING other people's lives. How dare you."
Previously, Christian had stayed silent on reports of Herschel's children that were born outside of his marriage, though he had often criticized absentee fathers on social media.
In December, Christian spoke at a fundraising event for his father held at former President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort.
While the younger Walker has targeted his dad in his posts, there's no indication that these new posts are signs of any change in political stance; Christian, who recently moved to Florida, was praising Gov. Ron DeSantis only 48 hours ago.
DeSantis infamously signed the state's "don't say gay" law earlier this year.
Christian has developed a following over the last few years posting videos of himself yelling at his phone, often while in line for Starbucks. He rejects identifying as gay but says he is attracted to other men. Christian has often derided the LGBTQ+ community at large, liberals, and others like the Black Lives Matter movement. His videos often take on such an exaggerated tenor that they could be viewed as performance art, as opposed to earnest pleas.
After the Christian's tweets, the elder Walker posted, "I LOVE my son no matter what."
However, with the allegations of infidelity having emerged, the internet responded by asking the Senate hopeful to be more specific about which son.
