The Glee cast will reunite to honor the legacy of Naya Rivera.
The reunion, which will take place at this year's 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards, is timed to the 10-year anniversary of the coming out of Santana Lopez as a lesbian on the Fox musical comedy, a touchstone moment for Latinx LGBTQ+ representation on television.
Rivera died last July 2020 in a boating accident, and her passing was deeply mourned by many LGBTQ+ fans who felt seen through Santana's coming-out journey.
The tribute will be introduced by Demi Lovato, who portrayed Santana's girlfriend on Glee. Participating cast members include Jacob Artist, Chris Colfer, Darren Criss, Vanessa Lengies, Jane Lynch, Kevin McHale, Heather Morris, Matthew Morrison, Alex Newell, Amber Riley, Harry Shum Jr., Becca Tobin, and Jenna Ushkowitz.
Niecy Nash will host this year's GLAAD Awards, which honor LGBTQ+ excellence in film, television, and journalism. The virtual ceremony, in partnership with Google, will air on GLAAD's YouTube Thursday, April 8, at 8 p.m. Eastern. The event will be available to stream later that evening, at 10 p.m. Eastern, on Hulu until the end of June.
Other special guests include Ian Alexander, Molly Bernard, Matt Bomer, Jonathan Bennett, Bob the Drag Queen, Sterling K. Brown, Laverne Cox, Wilson Cruz, Mackenzie Davis, Robin de Jesus, Blu del Barrio, Nyle DiMarco, Colman Domingo, Clea DuVall, Brandee Evans, Dan Levy, Jim Parsons, Shangela, Katy Perry, Eureka O'Hara, Anthony Rapp, Bretman Rock, JoJo Siwa, Sam Smith, and the Veneno cast.
